40 Years

On November 12, 2022, The Soup Kitchen (aka the 9-10 Club) celebrated 40 years of feeding community. (Click here to read Press Release.)

Since our volunteer run non-profit opened its doors in 1982, The Soup Kitchen has served over 1,000,000 meals.

That’s more than the entire population of Vancouver Island and more than double the people that live in the Greater Victoria area.

On average, we feed about 3,000 people per month – always with kindness, compassion and respect.

Each week day, rain or shine, our volunteers serve warm, nutritious meals to seniors, low-income workers, people unhoused and anyone else living at risk in Victoria.

We’re able to keep costs down as we’re 100% volunteer run and we’ve built strong relationships with corporate donors and generous individuals. Recently, we’ve been able to access funding through community and provincial grants.

With continued supply chain disruptions and rising inflation, The Soup Kitchen is seeing a steady increase in the number of people who rely on our daily meals.

Our goal: 40 years, 40 days, 4,000 meals

For our 40-years of service, The Soup Kitchen is aiming to raise $24,000 in 40 days. That’s 4,000 meals.

How can you help The Soup Kitchen continue feeding community?

  • Donate $24 for 4 meals
  • Donate $48 for 8 meals
  • Donate $96 for 16 meals
  • Donate $192 for 32 meals
  • Or donate another amount!

Thank you for being generous and supporting The Soup Kitchen.
