Gordon joined The Soup Kitchen in 2021 and became Board Chair the following year. After retiring, he wanted to engage at a meaningful charity and found it at The Soup Kitchen. In addition to being Chair, Gordon volunteers for the Friday meal service, and recently became the Tuesday soup maker. His career prior to retirement included 30 years working for Canada’s foreign aid programmes and as a finance director for several international agricultural research organizations based in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the World Bank in Washington. He started his career as a CUSO volunteer in the West Indies in the early 1970’s.
