Where is The Soup Kitchen located?

We are downtown in Victoria, 740 View Street, in the basement of St. Andrew’s Cathedral.

Friday, November 12, 1982.

Monday to Friday, including holidays, from 8 am to 10 am.

No, we serve anyone who comes through our door.

Each meal contains a nutritious, freshly made soup:

  • Monday – Goulash 
  • Tuesday – Spilt pea and ham 
  • Wednesday – Beef barley
  • Thursday – Chicken rice
  • Friday – Beef vegetable with pasta

Each bag is packed with healthy protein-rich ingredients including hot soup (made fresh every morning), a meat and cheese filled sandwich, yogurt, and a hard-boiled egg. Two fruits, a sweet, bottled water, and hot tea or coffee completes each meal.

We currently offer a takeout bagged meal service.

As a non-profit we rely upon the generous donations from individuals and the business community.

No, all our members are volunteers.

No.  We are lucky to have some fantastic companies that we can count on for donations, such as Cobs Bread Bakery, the Dutch Bakery and Diner, Martha’s Delectables and Save-on-Foods. Other items we purchase through a buying cooperative to keep our costs as low as possible.

Occasionally The Soup Kitchen receives donations of clothing and personal care items which we hand out to our diners on a need’s basis.
